  1. I've heard about the idea that the goverment is thinking about, wich is based on the prohibition of summer hollidays. In order to improve the level of our students, they will have to study for a longer period of time. This is what politicians say, however, students and teachers say that the longer time students have to be at class the more disturbed they are goning to be. That is the reason why this doesn't have any sense.

Children wouldn't be the same if summer hollidays weren't that long. Summer hollidays are the period of time in wich children grow as people, the experiences that we live during the summer can't be bought. It is also a period of time in wich children can do whatever they want forgetting homework and studies. It is a period of time for beeing with your grandparents wich is something very good as they love having their grandchildren at home. We keep them fit and entertained !

In summer, you needn't have to do anything, just enjoy. During the summer I usually wake up late and then I go to the street to play with my frinds, at lunchtime I usually go to my grandparent's house, my grandmother's food is birilliant, and in the night I watch a movie and I go to bed. Anybody could denny that this is a stresless live. I also travel with my family and with no doubts this is the most enjoyable time of the year.

Getting into a conclusion, summer hollidays shouldn't be prohibited, if they had to do something they should do them longer.

  3. A few days ago, I was looking at the newspapers and I found out that politicians are suggesting to make summer holidays shorter.

I think this is a bad idea, not only for students but for teachers also. We spend 6 hours a day in class, listening to the teachers and taking notes of the lessons. Teachers spend even more hours, meeting for the final marks, helping students to prepare their net exam...

Summer holidays, well to be honest every holiday is welcomed, but summer holidays are three months of doing anything, just chilling and relaxing before the next school year arrives. Holidays are to do what you couldn't do during the rest of the year, enjoying the sun, the beach, your friends, ice creams, swimming pools...

The best summer holiday I've ever had was when I travelled to New York yo see my old friend. We met at the summer camp and we became closet friends quickly. It was the first time I was travelling alone on a plane but was one of the best experiences of my life. If someone had told me that day that I was supposed to go back to school soon I wouldn't enjoyed it as much as I did.

In conclusion, summer holidays are a essential part of our year, making them shorter wouldn't be good and wouldn't be welcomed by the vast mayority of the people.

  5. As far as I'm concerned the goverment is going to make summer holidays shorter for everyone.

I think is not a good idea, for teachers as well.I think the summer holidays the period of time is correct, because we stayed in a room 8 hours 5 days per week. Exceptionally if we have a bridge or a special day that we don't do anything.

Turning now to te benefits of the summer. The summer is a period of time that you can relax or chill out with your friends or your family. We enyoging the perfect climate going to the swimming pool or the beach.

The best summer holiday I've ever had is when I went to Valencia with my cousins,I spent a great time with them. I met a lot of interesting people,We went to the beach and we had a great time. After Valencia, I travelled to Nazaret(Portugal), that trip was brilliant. I've never seen that waves in all of my life and the people was so nice.

To finish with the summer holidays I recomend to pass a lot of time with your family or your friends and get relax before you start with the exams.

  6. A few days ago, I read an article in a local newspaper suggesting that the San Isidro Festival should no longer take place. The article said that the festival is very old and costs the local goverment too much money. I'd like to dicuss some arguments about this post.

I disagree when the author says that the festival has become very ancient.
The San Isidro festival has being celebrated since the X century. And secondly, this festival doesn't cost too much money because of the amount of sponsors that invest in this celebration. This is an opportunity for the local businesses, so they can show the products to the people and they will show you the local costums about the region.

The festival has been celebrated for hundred of years, the streets are crowded of people eating food, musicians singing and that was the reason why most of the people were happy that day.

In my point of view, local festivals must be respected and they have to be shown to the rest of the people.

    How dare you?

  7. I was reading the newspaper the other morning and I read an article that surprised me; the article suggested that schools should no longer have a long holiday over the summer, and therefore makes them shorter. I would like to say some of the positive points of having a long holiday over the summer.

In my opinion, this suggestion is negative because there are a lot of good things about having long holidays. First of all, you can rest for a few months after all the effort you have made during the school year, you can stay in bed until the time you want or you can hang out with friends for as long as you want. Another reason is that on holidays you can travel and discover new places and learn their culture. The last reason is that on holiday, you can have new experiences like going to festivals or making new friends.

Last summer I really enjoyed the holidays. I went to Germany for a week with my family and we visited the important cities that are in that country, like Munich or Berlin. After that, I spend the next two weeks in my town, after spending three days in there , the parties of my town started and all my friends came to it. To finish my holidays I went to Denia that is a town in Alicante that is in the coast, and I enjoy the pool and the beach for a few days.

In conclusion, I think long summer holidays are very important for students and teachers and it won't be fair for us to stop having them.

  9. As far as I’m concerned the goverment is going to reduce the summer holiday period of time.

From my personal point of view that is not a good decision because students stay a lot more time in school than in their houses and when they get home they have to study, do homework and prepare for the next day class, also the bast majority of students feel stressed and they need to relax and have fun and they only have holidays like three times a year.

I personaly love summer, its a period of time where you don’t have to worry about anything like homework or exams, and you justhave fun and enjoy hanging out with friends, and it wouldn’t be the same if this period is shorter, and most children would be very sad and angry with the goverment.

To sum up with I think that making shorter the summer holidays is a terrible idea and it only have disadvantages and it won’t help the students to have better results.

When I first saw this article I couldn't believe my eyes, but there was really someone who wanted to cancel the anual festival so in order to dismiss the proposal of the article, in this entry I'm going to explain why the festival should take place.
First of all, the festival gives an enjoyable experience not only for young people but to older people as well, its an oportunity of meeting other people that, from my personal experience, are allways kind and nice to everyone. The games and activities this festival gives to everyone are always fun and entreteining.
Secondly, the festival normally attracts people from all places, making it very inclussive and also making it more intresting, and, in terms of economy, the more people that come to the festival, the more people that is going to spend money.
To finish with I would like to say that I have been to the festival several times and I never felt I was an odd on out, the ambient, the music and the games are always new, and it has never disapointed me or my friends, I supose if they cancel it a lot of people would be displeased because of this, but as I said, that's just form my point of view and personal experience.

  11. I had no words when I read the newspaper a few days ago. The article suggest that schools should no longer have a long holiday over the summer.

I have to say that it has advantages and disadvantages. One advantage is that parents don' t have to worry while they are working, because their child should be in school. And also that pupils won't worry about how fast the subject is going to be, because they would have more time to study.

On the other hand , one disadvantage is that students are going to get up early for more days. And also because due to the high temperatures in July here in Madrid, the students don't perform as much as in other times of the year.

To summary, I would rather have the classes we have nowadays because benefits both students and teachers.

  12. A few days ago I heard in the local news that the government was thinking about make shorter the summer vacation that student have.

I don't think this method is a good idea, students need to have at least two entired months to relax. We go to school during nine months. And we have a lot of stress because of the exams so we need a break of all of this work.

I cannot understand that politicians think this could be a good idea, they think that during this time we can increase our knowledge and focus more on the subjects we don't understand. But they are completely wrong, if you look at our point of view you will see that this makes no sense. We wouldn't learn more just because of a few more weeks and we will be very tired.

The holidays I enjoyed the most were 2 years ago. I went to Morocco with my family and I liked it because it was so different from what I'm usually used to. They had a different culture. I saw farm animals walking the streets between the people, that really drove me crazy.

In conclusion, vacations are an important time to relax, and we have to keep it save.

In my opinion, I completely disagree with that suggestion, because summer is a period of time that you do whatever you want like for exmple: waking up later, hanging out with friends, spend time with your family and travel around the world. You can do everything you want.

Last summer, I enjoyed to much because I visited new places in Málaga and I also went to my town's parties which I enjoyed more than other years.

In conclusion, having a long summer is better for everyone because you can rest for a few months of school.

  14. I am totally alarmed. Yesterday I was reading at the newspaper and I read an article suggesting that the summer holidays should be shorter. The article agree that summer holidays were unnecessary for students, and they discuss about having just a week of holidays on summer. I’d like to say some positive arguments explaining why the summer holidays need to be much longer.

First I want you to remember the bests moments of your life, aren’t they both in July and August? of course they are, in two months you have time to meet new people and know a lot about them. Secondly, as you travelled around the world, you learn more languages and cultures of that places. And finally,
summer holidays are the moment which all students have been waiting for. After exams, classes, ect, all students want to relax and sleep.

Last summer I went a month of exchange to London, the firsts days I didn't talk with anyone for two reasons; the first one was because of my shyness and the second reason was because my english was not good at all. But after that month I met a lot of people, improved a lot my english, but if the summer become sorter I might have no time to make new friends these year because I am going to Australia for another exchange.

In conclusion, summer holidays need to be as longer as the are now, they are not good just for the students, as well for teachers, and our friends, etc...

  15. This weekend i was quite surprised, I've read a newspaper article saying that Madrid's goverment was thinking of canceling the Holy Week festival. In this blog entry I will explain some pros and cons of this festival.

Firstly, I think this festival is a good way to relax and enjoy your holidays having fun with friends, meeting new people or participating in the activities the event organizes. Another advantage is that many tourist will come to visit the city and they will spend a huge amount of money that will help the economy, and as far as religion is concerned, there will be some processions.

On the other hand it could be dangerous because there will be a lot of people at the same place, and it would be needed a lot of security and police vigilance, also I think Holy Week is loosing its meaning because some people are forgetting what it is really celebrated on those dates.

To finish with, I think it would be a mistake to cancel the festival because it has al lot of advantages but also they should organize some activities to boost the religious meaning of Holy Week.

  16. Few days ago I was reading the newspaper and I felt very surprise cause they give an advice that says : The last suumer holidays. First I thought it was a ficcion book or something like that but when I read I started to cry a lot. I can't support thinking about a year without the best months of my live. In my opinion the summer it's the time I enjoy more with my family and friends it is a time to relax. I spent all my time of the other months stuying, working, doing homeworks... So I am stressed during all the year and the summer it's my moment for being happy .

The best month of the summer holidays it's August cause I go to my town I enjoy with the people that I can't saw during the rest of the year because of the distance. I like going out with them to partys, to other towns, to play sport, for watching movies or sometimes only for sit down it the countryside and talk about our dreams and our futures or just saying anything only staying relax with the people i love without worries

I think all the people in summer is happier and are getting harder for the classes, for taking good marks to enjoy the next summer.

So the summer it's like a prize that you can only win if you exert during the rest of the year.

Yesterday, when my father taught me an article published in a digital newspaper about the possibility of making shorter the Summer holidays, I was stumped for a moment. The writer doubted if a long period of holidays are good for all the students.

As any student would think, this idea could be harmful for our education. First of all, I have to say that after nine months studying, students need a long period of rest and relax to start a new year in the best possible way. Also, Summer is time to do new activities, having fun with our families and friends, because in the rest of the year, we cannot do it as we would like, because we don't have enough time. Imagine the high temperatures that would be in the classrooms.

Last summer, I was a month and a half in Guardamar del Segura, and I could be with some uncles and some cousins that I had not seen for a long time. I had enjoy it a lot. Also I had a great time with friends that are from there, so I don't see them very often. I did special activities such as riding a boat, surfing...
Only I can do this activities in Summer, because I have a lot of time for doing what I want.

In conlusion, they shouldn't change the duration of Summer holidays, because it is the best time lf the year in which  we live unforgettable moments.

  18. I was reading the newspaper, when I saw a notice that really annoys me. I started to frown and yawn, then my mother asked me what was happening, I told her that I was very frustrated because I read a notice that said that the holidays of summer has to be removed.

Turning now to the topic of being frustrated again, first of all of the children din't have their summers they are going to get angry and furious, maybe lots of them will start to have bad mark.
Also, for us, is necesary to have holidays after the school year, we are children and young people that study and work all the year and our reward is not the money like adults, our reward is a good summer, and also you have to know that if you do it, it will be worse because, it is true that we must study but if we don't have nice holidays we will be so tired and we will never improve our marks.
The summer gives us very nice experiences too. For example in my last summer I went to a summer camp in wich I did lots of friends and I learnt a lot of things, I improved as a person and I lived together with a lot of nice people.
Then I went to my town, I stayed all the time with my family and friends and we create always very good moments. Finally I went to Germany with my sister spoke all the time in german or english so I improve other lenguages as well.

Please, we need summer, it's what motive us the most.

  19. I saw the newspaper this morning and I read and article about the possible cancellation of the Carnival celebration in Madrid, it really shocked me. I couldn’t believe the fact that someone suggests that this local festival should no longer take place. The article said that the Goverment was thinking on this due to the pollution levels. So in this post I’d like to give some arguments against this point of view.

First of all, I would like to say that the pollution it's not an excuse to stop celebrating the festival. Politicians say that Madrid’s Carnival attracts a lot of turists and this includes the emissions of the people’s cars. I completely disagree because all the people have the option to use public transport to go from one place to another in the city. Secondly, it is a pagan celebration leading up to Lent, a period of time very important for catholics and a tradition for everyone since the Medieval Age and we shouldn’t annul it. And thirdly, Carnival fills the streets of happiness with dances, music and costumes too. Many people enjoy this fest, but especially small kids that dress up as any type of cartoon or character they like.

When I was a child I used to go to every parade in Carnival, I liked a lot those days when I could put on a costume without thinking what people were going to say about me. I used to spend a lot of time going to workshops with my family and ending the celebration in the Sardine’s Burial. They were good times.

To conclude, for all the reasons I said before, I personally think this local festival must continue taking place in Madrid keeping an eye on the enviroment using the available services. It has always been and will be a festival to have fun and remember.

  20. Few days ago I read a newspaper article talking about the removal of the 1st month of the summer holidays therefore extending the length of the course by a month, which got me frustrated and really mad, which got my mom really worried.

Going back to the point of the removal of the month, studies said that kids have too many time on vacation and that being even destructive for some of them. In my humble opinion I think it would not be as as an idea because most of the children would be against it and also really mad at not having that extra month in the summer.

I also believe that kids and teens need all 3 months after an intense school year so we can have a rest both physically and mentally, I also don't understand why do this as it would only get children to not pay attention in class the last month and therefore get worse marks overall.

To sum up, being able to have the 3 months in the summer is beneficial for us as we have a long rest and have lots of fun.

  21. A few days ago, I was looking at the local news and I found out that politicians are planning to make summer holidays shorter.

In my point of view this is a horrible idea, not only for us, the students but also for our teachers. We spend 6 hours per day in class, listening to the teachers and taking notes of the lessons. Teachers spend even more hours, preparing the exams and una classes, coming up to the meetings, etc.

Summer holidays are satisfying, well to be honest every holiday is welcomed, but summer holidays are three months of doing anything, just sleeping  and relaxing before the next school year arrives. Holidays are a period of time for do what you want: wake up at 12 o'clock, go to the swimming pool diary, travel, met with your friends diary,
    no responsabilities.

The best summer holiday I've ever had was when I travelled to Bourdeux, France to see my from there. We stayed at the farm house of my uncle and my cousins and I enjoy a lot. We were able to play on a huge playground, also we were the vast majority of the day on a football little camp. It was incredible,  we go to the beatch and play in the sand.

In conclusion, summer holidays are a essential for all of us, making them shorter wouldn't be a good idea and wouldn't be welcomed.

  23. Yesterday, I read a newspaper saying that schools should no longer have a long holiday over the summer, because we normaly forget all the lessons we learnt during the school year.

The first time I read this, I thinked it might be a type of joke and that maybe today is April fools, but today is not that day. As the vast mayority of the people, I disagree on this. Firstly, after a school year we need months of days of holidays to relax and not to be stressful all time bitting our fingernails. Secondly, I don't think we forget the things we learn in school, we only need to refresh them, so we can remember the majority of the things we learnt.

Last summer I went to Paris with my family and I enjoyed it a lot. I visited The Eiffel Tower, the Paris Saint-Germain stadium and theme parks, such us Disney Land.

To sum up, summer holidays are very important and it is better not to quit them

  24. As far as I'm concerned, the government is going to restrict the summer holidays of students and teachers, and as such they surely will reply with riots, which are not any good to cities.

This prohibition wont suppose any improve on students or teachers, actually, they probably won't make any effort and they possible won't go too schools too much days because of the manifestations.Summer holidays are nowadays essential for children, because this is the period in which they learn lots of important things that teachers don't mention in class, and it is also a good period to spend time with your grandparents, they can tell you some interesting past things that are no more done in the present.

I personally love summer holidays, the one I enjoyed most is the more recent,it was on 2019.I first went to my town and just chill there, sleeping between 11 and 13 hours,I limited myself to eat, play, then going out with my friends untill two or three AM and after that just sleeping. Then the festivals of up close villages started, so we went on car or walking through the paths to arrive there, and the we were just having a whale of time.On august I started my America trip, in which I go on a tour through several states of the two coasts, well, certainly I only visited new York and New jersey on the east cost. That was my favourite trip I've ever done.

To finish with, summer vacations are just simply a pillar that all students and teachers need to be in family or relax, and the government might have not thought well what they said.

  25. I'm shocked with this article. I've alredy read up that in my new local newspaper the government is suggesting to banned our summer holidays, I'm so surprised with this decision because from my point of view there are no reasons.

Have you ever lived the best summer of your life? I'm quite sure that you have, don't the government wants us to enjoy the summer as they do? Academically speaking we have more performance after this. Is insane being all days seven days in a chair without having a good rest as these holidays are.Actually what about the week that you spend with all your family in the beach or out of spain, I think thats esential.

From my point of view this decition has no sense cause I have lived experiences there that I would nevel have lived with out summer. For example this summer I went to the beach with a very good friend and we have great times the on the pool getting tanned. We cannot forget the summer parties all the night in your town, what i can say is that if you have never gone to a town's you can't express what you really feel there.

In conclusion, not only to have fun that also for mental rest , it would be a mistake, the vast mayority of spain will be disappointed.

  26. I'm shocked. The one who has said that we have to stay longer in the school has been as brave as a lion, but at the same time, it will lead him to failure. Politicians completely defend this, but we should show them the right way.

Is it neccesary? Absolutely not! They think that if we sit more time on a chair with a pen on our hands and full of exams, adolescents are going to take advantage of the time. Do you really believe that being at 40 degrees without air conditioner might contribute to our brain and our knowledge?

Anyone can deny that adolescences enjoy summer since 20th of June at 2:20pm to the end. Summer is 3 months of being over the moon: summer camps (where you may introduce many people), whole days in the swimming pool, a little travel to the beach with your family where you compete about who does the bigger sandcastle, August in our town, talk to friends looking at the moon who aren’t in the whole year, but who have and will always have a great space in us.

In conclusion, summer and all vacations, give us unique moments and memories for all our lifes. We are children, we have to enjoy, fall, stand up and still have a smile from side to side. The more time at school, the less desconnect. We have to live and laugh and return wanting to give the best of us.

Please cross your fingers to make it a lie!

  28. This morning after having a shower,I read that the new government wants to make summer's holidays shorter because they think this holidays makes us fail our exams.

The first advantage of having a long summer's holidays is that we take a long time without thinking about the exams we could have this week or having anxiety because of the marks. Even the teachers need this holidays to relaxe. At school days we are most of the time studying, doing homework... and it's good for our future and because of that we need to take a breathe on this.

Last summer I travelled with my family, I relaxed and passed a great time with my parents and with my friends. You do what you want, you wake up at the hour you want, you can stay at your home watching a film... I personally love this.

In my opinion, summer's holidays are so important to disconnect from school.Coming back school it's something that nearly all the students hate but in my opinion if the new government keep going with this idea, it will be terrible.

    1. I was reading the new news at my new newspaper app just to make sure that no one has started a WWIII jet, when I found THIS article about shuting down the NCPAV (the Nationas Conference of Parents Against Vaccines).

I, as a parent, I was totally ambushed about the fact that this magnificent event is ending, and I don't know why, all the years we are bigger and bigger, It's always really inspitrational and makes me happy of been part of that. For example, last year, we invite a real doctor (well, at least he said he was a doctor) and after talking about healing crystals, he healed someone. Obiusly we gave him at least 500$ to buy some crystals, wich were really worth it.

Anyway, I don't like the fact that the goverment it's traying to close our event to prevent us for reveal the truth about medecin, and they cover it with their lies like: "We are closing this event beacause it's coast tons of anti-vaxx kids's lifes annueally" or "you don't have a lisence to do this reunion, this is literally ilegal". All lies.

I really hope we could fix this,

I'm writing you beacuse of the new policy about vaccines that the goverment had been implanting. I find it's completly disrespectful that they have the right, no, the DARE of deciding how I raise my sweet little angel. I haven't vaccinate my child and he is worndefull, sure, he might have malaria and maybe polio, but he is such a fighter, he has been able to fight away and survive, and all thanks to be able to face the disease in a control enviroment, if only vaccines do that.

I'm more worried about my child getting autisim, I read in ONE page that vaccines cause autisim and down syndrome, and I want my child to be NORMAL, not a weirdo. I had to protect him from the lies of the goverment, they try to control us so they can kill the poor more easily and resolve the problem of overpopulation.

I alredy complain about tihs in my blog, "How to raise your child", but I had to delete it beacuse the harrasment by other parents like, "You are destroying your child's life" or "You help disease spread" and all kinds of bull****.

I alredy complain about tihs in my blog, "How to raise your child", but I had to delete it beacuse the harrasment by other parents like, "You are destroying your child's life" or "You help disease spread" and all kinds of bull****.

YOU NEED TO SOLVE THIS INMEDEATLY, OR ELSE I WILL SUE YOU.

  32. As I was going home last week from Junior’s (the town’s coffee shop), I found out that the local music festival was no longer going to take place in town. There are a lot of people who have attended for years. The aim of this blog post is to give good arguments to show that hosting a music festival is not going to be a problem for the town hall.

This event has been done for years and always will have a big social impact. This event can give a good image about town if everything is done in a correct way. The celebration can cheer young people to attend more to social events such as going to the cinema and concerts, or even visiting museums, instead of staying at home playing computer or looking at a screen. It will be a good opportunity for young and inexperienced local bands to play in a big musical fest.

From my own experience, a music festival is a really good place to spend time in. You learn new cultures, you try new food, new drinks, you do new activities and you meet a lot of new people. You get to try new products and just have a great time enjoying the music and dancing. Kids must have been very dissappointed when the find out that the local fest was no longer being hosted.

With all these arguments, I believe hosting a music festival in town would be a very good idea to have an economical growth and more social events were young people could spend their time. So I encourage all those in favor of still organising the festival, to sign my petition on the town hall. We only need two thousand signs! I hope you consider it!

    Thanks for reading!!

I was very surprised to read what the local newspaper had published, suggesting that schools should no longer have a long holiday over the summer. I'd like to outline some arguments about the benefits of summer holidays.

I totally disagree with not having long summer holidays. The first it's that, if students have long holidays, they will be able of taking a rest. For meeting with their friends, reviewing some subjects. But mostly, spending time with their family, doing things together, like for example going to beach… Because during the class schedule students spend almost all their time studying, doing homeworks, projects or going to school. Meanwhile their parents work too. So they really don't spend much time together. But having long holidays also will help them returning back to school with more energy and less stress.

Two summers ago I really enjoyed. My parents bought a new beach house in Alicante. It was quite beautiful and the most important, it had urbanization. At first I didn't really know if I was gonna like it, the house, the town, the children…
When we first had a walk around the town I loved it. It wasn't neither so big nor so small. It had a lot of shops, a jumble sale all around the seafront, even a small castle. The next day, of course, we want to the beach and had a great time, having fun with the waves, lying on the sand, flying a kite…But the moment I was more nervous was when I was going to go down to the urbanization to meet the rest of the children who spent there their summer holidays. But when I finally met them I was delighted, the majority of them were the same age as me. And I really liked them very much, even some of them live in the same city as me.
That vacations were unforgettable for me, and thanks goodness it was two months because if not, it wouldn't be enough
